A range of activities combining pleasure and relaxation for our elder guests
The convivial Relais de l’Hermitage St Gilles (formerly Novotel St Gilles) also offers adult activities for the full enjoyment of the place. Everyone is free to live at its own pace and to do what they wish during the day.
The hotel offers access to the Ermitage lagoon, classified as a natural reserve, where you can swim in magnificent turquoise waters. You can practise water sports near the hotel and go snorkelling to admire the underwater world of the lagoon. The hotel provides masks and snorkelling equipment for you to explore this miracle of nature on the doorstep.
For the more dynamic, there are many other sports and entertaining activities: petanque, beach volley, ping-pong, badminton, tennis and archery. Relax with yoga and zumba sessions. We provide all the material required for these free activities.
The Relais de l’Hermitage St Gilles (formerly Novotel St Gilles) also has two swimming pools and a Jacuzzi with deckchairs where you can soak up the sun at any time of day. You do not need to bring beach towels – we provide these. In this atmosphere of relaxation and wellbeing, you can take advantage of the various water free activities : aquagym, aquabiking and aquapalming. During the austral winter, a swimming pool is heated for those who feel skittish.
For that total escape, you can go down to the beach lined with filao trees below the Relais de l’Hermitage St Gilles (formerly Novotel St Gilles) to admire the sunset. The sky is marvellous at this time of day, as it turns many hues into orange. Then, as the sun is coming down and about to burn below the horizon, you may notice the famous green ray of light.
Afterwards, it is time for an aperitif ! Delicious cocktails await you at the bar Le Tamarin. Over your drink, you can enjoy some of the cultural delights of The Reunion Island in the form of ethnic dances and Creole music.
At dinner, flavours of the world are accompanied by mixed rhythms. You can enjoy performances put on by various artists which we select with care. Dance evenings, world music, jazz, blues and the séga and maloya typical of the island are all packed into a week, so there is something to suit all tastes, from traditional to contemporary. There are musical events every evening in the high season and three times a week in the low season.
